Blog Tour by The Book Club of IT HAPPENS by Karan Sharma

During our childhood days, we tend to have these crushes on people older than us that fade as we grow up. We never act upon them but they remain as memories that we always cherish.

But what happens when two adults with such an age difference fall in love?

It Happens is a story about how Gautam, a twenty-five-year-old upcoming professional and Roshni, an unmarried thirty-seven-year-old senior management member working in the same multinational bank, face this very question. Can two people with such a vast age difference be compatible?

The story is a romantic comedy that explores this situation in a light-hearted way as they fall in love, get laughed at by their friends and then develop cold feet, thinking about the repercussions their age difference could have on their marriage. Since this happens in India, where marriage is a major social issue, the plot holds further intrigue.

They say love is blind and makes one think with the heart, rather than the mind. Will two smart professionals make a mistake by doing so? Or will they listen to their logical senses at the last moment to avert what may be the biggest blunder of their lives?

It Happens…

Guest Post: Which role is close to your heart? to Rubina Ramesh

Greetings Everyone,

Here is a Guest Post for the one of the Best Seller Romance Author Rubina Ramesh. She is one Tough lady with a funny bone. Read on to know more about her :)

 Rubina Ramesh

Do check out our reviews for her books:
Book Review: Finding the Angel by Rubina Ramesh
Book Review: Knitted Tales by Rubina Ramesh

Q: Rubina, The Marketer. Rubina The Book Promoter. Rubina, The Author. Rubina, The Mother. Rubina, The SuperWoman.
Which role is close to your heart? Any more roles do you play which your fans dont know of? Please dont be modest :D

A: Only you, my dear Nilima  can come out with such a question :D From Marketer to Mother, I accept humbly are the roles I do play but superwoman? Those underpants are yet to be designed :P

I hope it’s the mother. My little ones are the motivation behind everything I do. What do I do is of course another question. I wanted to write always Nilima but without the marketing abilities nowadays it’s very difficult for an indie author to survive.

You forgot one role .. that of a wife. Without an understanding partner in your life, whatever we do becomes very difficult. My hubby doesn’t understand at all why I do and what I do what I do. He hates the way I don’t often go to parties or stay awake till the wee hours of the night. But sometimes when I work too late, that cup of coffee or cocoa makes its way to my desk without me getting up at all. He might not like it, but he does understand that space I need to keep myself happy. And writing is one thing that ensures all my anger, my frustration, my sadness and that overwhelming feeling of gratefulness and happiness are all curbed within the boundaries.

I suppose all authors will tell you the same. Writing is our bloodline. If you want your wife, who is a writer to be a happy wife – never enter that space which is her writing zone or hell hath no fury :D Just kidding.

 With Love,

See! I told you so :D.

Reading A Promise, Togetherness Forever will reinstate your belief that love can heal all wounds, those inflicted on the body as well as the soul.

It would be great if you can add this book to your TBR

Reshma Ranjan is a passionate romantic who loves literature and has been driven by the romance around her. She has made up her own happy endings in her imagination for every movie and for every book with a sad ending.

"Slowly I started to create my own characters and situation, creating a world of romance and happy endings to my liking. But for my laziness, I would have penned umpteen numbers of stories with unexpected people meeting and falling in love and uniting for a lifetime."

Also a voracious reader but for which she believes she could never have started writing. "If I can bring a smile and a happy sigh on at least one reader’s lips I will feel a blessed writer."

Book Review: Simha International by Sundari Venkatraman

Greeting Romance book lovers,
Our Author Friend Sundari Venkatraman has penned a Series: The Bansal Legacy. Book 1: Simha International I have seen shaping up from Sundari posting it as blog posts every week on her blog to it being released on Kindle. It has taken a long, marvelous journey. Proud to have read a few chapters as one of the beta readers of its very first edition. The complete story blew my mind. Sundari does it every time. Blending romance and a deep story plot.
Read our review of Book 2: Rose Garden International

Simha International runs on oiled wheels with Rohit Bansal holding its reins. He is well respected by the employees to board of directors and also his competitors. He has taken pains to build its speckles reputation. Then a hotel guest brings to his notice a theft happening in the hotel which is simple and cleverly executed. He is determined to find the thief and is sure of his employees loyalty. He hires a competent detective to solve the case.
Tasha Sawant works as the duty manager at Simha International. She is good at her work and has a solid experience of working in the hotel industry. Rohit Bansal and Tasha are attracted to each other. Both are scarred by love in the past and are afraid of relationships.
Can they give themselves a second chance at love? How will it work with a boss and an employee? Who is the clever thief? Will the detective live up to his name in solving the theft?

Buy the book to know more.

What I liked:
A mystery to solve, a romantic couple, a working hotel as crime scene and lots of characters.
Sundari Venkatraman has deftly weaved the story with all these things incorporated in it. There is no dull moment in the story. Loved the way the flashback and present are presented without disrupting the reading process or taxing the readers brain keeping track of happenings. The language is good like always.

The characters are many and play their part smoothly. Everyone has a equal part including the protagonists. The feelings and emotions make you visualize the scenes vividly. The description of the places, people, situations adds to the imagination.

Hats off to the research put in the working of Hotel industry. I could feel I was sitting on Rohit or Tasha's shoulder and exploring the hotel.

I appreciate Rohit's way of handling Tasha's brother, Arun Gaikwad or the thief's punishment. Got him brownie points from me ;) I liked the way Tasha is confident, uses her brains and makes decisions. She is no damsel in distress but knows how to take a helping hand with grace. Her mother grated on my nerves as well as Arun. Controlling myself from giving out spoilers ;)

What I wanted more:
I was surprised at the actual theif and motive behind it. Felt a little bland ;) But like I said loved the way Rohit handled the punishment and turned it to his advantage.

I have read Book 2: Rose Garden International and now eager to read Book 3: Maharaja International

Book Review: My Singapore Fling by Sudesna Ghosh

Greetings everyone,
My Singapore Fling by Sudesna Ghosh is her first Romance novel. The title will pique your interest. It did for me. Lets get to know how this Fling was ;)
Know about the book: Spotlight: My Singapore Fling by Sudesna Ghosh

Read our review of Sudesna's : Book Review: Just me, the Sink & the Pot by Sudesna Ghosh

Dipa is a 30+ single Bengali Author whose parents have given up hope of getting her married. Dipa is a workaholic Author who survives on expensive coffee and has a long list of expectations of the guy who will be her mate. But after a series of failed relationships she has given up on Love. She decides she just wants to do something different. She decides to fly to Singapore for 3 days & have fling(s). No strings attached.
Does she have her Singapore Fling? How does she go about it? What are the criteria she lists for the Fling guy?
Do buy and read this hilarious account of My Singapore Fling ;)

What I Liked:
The characters are funny, self analysing types, weird but compassionate too. Dipa is sketched as the imperfect girl who decides to do something out of her comfort zone. Her friends or the fling guys are hilarious. Selfie or the Tagore song guy had me ROFL.

The language is good and story flows smoothly barring a few typos.
Like I said in my review of Sudesna's book: Book Review: Just me, the Sink & the Pot by Sudesna Ghosh
She has the ability to weave a story out of our thoughts or ramblings.

I loved her description of airports & shopping knowledge she shared. I want to book an international flight & go shopping right now.

The life of an Author is described in between the stories. Friends and their advice is comical and original.

The feeling when you fall in love or remember old loves is penned perfectly.

This book should be enjoyed like you would enjoy a Govinda movie. Keep your brains aside and enjoy :D

What I wanted more:
Tightening the script a little. Though I read the book in 1-2 sittings & its hardly around 100 pages, I think it can loose a few pages to make it crisp.

Buy the book:

Do read and review the book.

Bye. Take care.

Esha Mehra could have taken care of her father, only if she had some support from her fiancé. But he had his priorities set and her sick father was nothing but a burden. Esha didn't have any other choice but to apply for a loan from her office. But she had not banked on the fact that the Head of Geno Technologies needed her for other reasons.

When Rohan Sharma saw Esha for the first time, he felt she was the one. He had no intention of falling in love with her for the pain of the past was still too much to bear.
But he did need Esha as a decoy to his plan. But Esha was not a damsel in distress who would bend to his will easily. While he was sure that he would marry her only for six months, he still couldn’t understand why he felt a searing jealousy every time, her ex-fiancĂ© Ayush’s name was mentioned.

While these two souls had other plans in their lives, Destiny conspires to bring them together. But will the stench of Death let them live their lives?

Read an excerpt:
On seeing her, he grinned. "There goes my dream of my bride sitting on the bed with a long veil over her face that I could slowly lift up."
Esha laughed. "Do it in your real wedding."
Rohan felt a jolt at her words though his feelings had stopped making any sense at all. He found her pajama-clad wet avatar very sensual. Her hair was wet from the shower and a few droplets fell on her collarbone, like dew drops on a rose petal. Now that he was finally alone with Esha, he wanted to further muss up her hair and kiss those wet pearls away. But never had he imagined that he would be alone in a room with her amidst roses and that her intoxicating perfume would drive him crazy. Theirs wasn't a marriage in the true sense and yet her lips were calling out to him to feel them with his own.
But he was sure that she wouldn't appreciate it. He forced himself to lean back on the pillow and give her an easy smile to fight his raging hormones. "So, which side of the bed is yours?"
She looked at him sharply to check if he was laughing at her predicament. She then went to her purse and took out a tape—a big, brown one.
"Naughty, naughty," he said sitting up, suddenly feeling the air crackling between them with an invisible electric thread that was slowly pulling them towards each other. "What's your intention darling?"
Esha gave him an evil grin and sashayed towards him, all the while opening the tape. "You didn't think I would be prepared?" she asked, her voice husky. Any hot-blooded man would find this a big turn-on but Rohan sat up straight, wondering if she was drunk.
"Esha, I think we should go to sleep now." He gave her a sheepish smile. "It's getting very late."
She threw back her head and laughed, "The night is still young, darling." She opened the tape further and climbed on the bed, inching slowly towards him as she rolled it out. Rohan could feel his heart skipping a few beats. He wanted her no doubt, but he was not expecting this and her strange behavior made him uncomfortable.
"Do you want something to eat?" He sounded lame even to himself. She threw her head back and looked at him, her sherry colored eyes darkening into molten chocolate, and the light breeze from the window caught her silk tresses and made them dance to a tune of their own. She bit her lower lip and leaned in front of him, staring deep into his eyes. "Are you nervous?"
"Why are you behaving like this?" he asked, trying to get out of the bed. He felt an invisible hand clutching his stomach but he kept his tone breezy. "Are we taking this night to mean what it is meant to be? I'm ready if you are."
If she took another step forward, her breasts would touch him. What the devil was she playing at? He couldn't even lean back further since the head rest was stopping any further movement. She leaned forward but instead of coming towards him, she went beyond him and stuck the edge of the tape to the middle of the bed post. She then pulled the tape down – further and further and a line was drawn along the middle of the bed.
