Book Review: The Proposal by MV Kasi

Greetings People !
I am pleasantly surprised after reading The Proposal by MV Kasi. If you have read any of her other books, you will be too :D.
Let me tell you why in a review ;)

Nandani Mahasena is a princess in real life albeit living in the 21st centuary. She is coaxed, cajoled and emotionally blackmailed into marrying a suitor in two weeks who will pay off the debts Nandini's father has amassed by gambling. Nandini, is a head strong woman who has built her own life and a company which she works hard for. She lives life on her terms and marrying a stranger is unthinkable for her. The groom is handsome and a successful businessman hailing from a jewellers family. The way he proposes touches Nandini's heart. In usual circumstances, her parents wouldnt have let the groom enter their crumbling palace unless he was from a royal lineage. But now the conditions are different.
Will Nandini accept the proposal? What will the groom gain by paying off Nandini's father's debts? Is there some other angel to the story?
Find out by buying and reading the story.

What I liked:
It is a clean romance and a short story. These two points in themselves are surprising considering MV Kasi's writing :)
I love MV Kasi's novels. They are big books with a fast paced story mixed with erotic episodes. So this short story was a complete pleasant surprise.

I loved it. It is a complete story within its short span. The excitement, suspense is throughout the story.

The characters are few but each powerfully portrayed. The language is good. Story flow is smooth and compact.
The royal atmosphere is prominent in the story. Even in this short story MV Kasi has brought out strong woman protagonist with thought provoking values. She has a knack for getting out societal norms which are laughable in this age but we still follow them blindly.

Loved how she has made it a cliff hanger. Waiting for the full fledged novel of this one, MV Kasi :)

What I wanted more:
The closure for the hook at the end of the story. I want to read the next part of the story soon.

Book Review: Blind, Certainly is Love by Reshma Ranjan

Good day everyone,

Book: Blind, Certainly is Love by Reshma Ranjan

As promised here is Review of book: Blind, Certainly is Love by Reshma Ranjan. An emotionally stirring novel which brings out the aching of a love lorn heart with words. I liked the book and though it being Reshma Ranjan's second book, the emotional turmoil it brings in you shows the author's mastery with words.

Know more about the book: Spotlight: Blind, Certainly is Love by Reshma Ranjan

Neha Jaiswal a successful career woman who makes men tremble with her glare, has temporarily lost eyesight in a near fatal accident. Her ex fiance just fled the moment he realized she was going to be a burden for him. Sarika is Neha's best friend who along with her newly wedded husband John Conrad is trying to help Neha heal. Sarika brings Neha, the workaholic, to their house for a vacation. Sarika's brother-in-law Sumit Conrad, a recluse going by his repulsion to women and commitments, and Neha lock horns but feel the sizzling chemistry and attraction towards each other. Both are wary of getting tangled emotionally.
Will Neha give her heart a chance to fall for this flirt and headstrong businessman called Alex Sumit Conrad? Does Sumit understand how Neha has tilted his world and he now desires a happily-forever with her?
Do both give each other a chance and ignore their faults? Find out by Buying the Book.

What I Liked:
Emotional turmoil and anguish. The book is filled with that heart wrenching feeling all the time. The words so perfectly make your own heart ache as the story flows.

After a long time, I read a big, fat novel albeit a Kindle version. The story is so big. The characters are few. The description of places is superb but you dont know the exact location. Everything is fictional yet life like.

The language is good. Characters are few and well fleshed out.
The twist in the last chapters was surprising.
The research about a blind person's habits, feelings, ways to cope & how other senses get sharper is well done.

What I wanted :
I was a little disturbed with the way Sumit behaved, talked in the name of wooing or love making. It borders on the lines of abuse. You cant treat a person this way to show you love them.

The story could have been shorter. The second part seemed stretched.

There were a few errors here & there. The next edition should get them ironed out.

Overall a good book to read.

 Sundari Venkatraman

Sundari Venkatraman is an indie author who has 35 titles (31 books & 4 collections) to her name, all Top 100 Bestsellers on Amazon India, Amazon USA, Amazon UK, Amazon Canada and Amazon Australia in both romance as well as Asian Drama categories. Her latest hot romances have all been on #1 Bestseller slot in Amazon India for over a month.

Even as a kid, Sundari absolutely loved the ‘lived happily ever after’ syndrome as she grew up reading all the fairy tales she could lay her hands on, Phantom comics, Mandrake comics and the like. It was always about good triumphing over evil and a happy end.

Soon, into her teens, Sundari switched her attention from fairy tales to Mills & Boon. While she loved reading both of these, she kept visualising what would have happened if there were similar situations happening in India; to a local hero and heroine. Her imagination took flight and she always lived in a rosy cocoon of romance over the years.

Then came the writing – a true bolt out of the blue! And Sundari Venkatraman has never looked back.

What I liked:
Oh this book brought out goosebumps all the time. Small book but keeps you on the edge of your seat at all times.
The air of suspense kills you. Deja vu or soul calling is so prevalent in each page makes you want to meet yours.

I have read Sunita's book of poems: Who Shall I be Today? and many blog posts. The language is impeccable, simple and smooth everywhere without being teacherly.

Sunita Saldhana has a knack for using plain, simple language to convey deep issues effortlessly. The emotions are portrayed in an infectious way. You will be bewildered, confused, sure of self, full of anguish, anger, love lorn, etc as the story progresses.

I loved the names of the characters first then how they grow with the story. Few characters but each has a good chunk in the story.

Liked how magic, karma, practical viewpoint, fantasy are mixed in equal proportions. The forward and back story flows without breaking the story thread.

The description of places along with people is perfect. My Thane, the Upwan lake, Yeour hills are exactly described. It was a dejavu for me in that sense :D

Sunita Saldhana has made the book as a stand alone as well as a Cliff hanger read. I am eager to read the next part.

What I wanted more:
The Book 2 of the Series please. Fast.
