Story:
Tanuja Bhatia lost her mother when she was one year old. Her father Talveer remarried Gurinder, who made sure she was a step mother in real sense. Her step sisters Harpreet and Jaspreet love to make Tanuja's life worse. Tanuja becomes a perfect daughter, cook, seam-stress by self learning and grows into a beautiful young lady. The step mother cant dominate Tanuja nor make her father see fault in her. Her life revolves around making Tanuja's life miserable and hoarding as many assets for her 2 daughters. Tanuja loves to dream of a Prince Charming who will come, sweep her off her feet and give her all the love she never got in life.
During a family vacation to Mahabaleshwar, Tanuja meets Raj Malhotra. It is love at first sight. They both meet in secrecy and promise to marry after a year. Tanuja's dream seems to be coming true.
But Gurinder, the step mother gets a whiff of this affair and tries to severe all plans of marriage for Tanuja. How can she loose a free maid and cook? She plans and plots.
Do these plans succeed?

What makes Tanuaja, such a grounded, accomplished girl, fall in love with Raj? Who is Raj Malhotra?
Will Raj and Tanuja live a happily ever after life? How does destiny play its role in this story?

What I liked:
The Malhotra Bride, made me believe that arranged marriages can turn into Love. The visualisation practise with this book, bore fruits for me ;)

Her Prince Charming, shows that the Universe delivers the best of what you ask for. Loved how Tanuja's dream manifested in such a grand way.

I loved that Tanuja is not shown as a motherless, pitiful, naive, doomed kind of girl. She is an upbeat, self-motivating, thinking, hard working, satisfied, mature, friendly girl with her head on her shoulders.
I loved her in The Malhotra Bride and here I loved her younger self too. We need woman like her in every house. I am proud I know many of such Tanuja's :)

Raj Malhotra, uff. He is Prince Charming and has no fault. How? Sundari, you are raising the standards too high for men to compete, arent you? I can see where Akshay got his flirty and self-made-man traits from. Grand father is no less ;) The Malhotra men are getting better with each generations and I would love to see such fine men supporting the women in each house.

The step mom, step sisters play their vamp parts perfectly. I loved how Tanuja's father is not shown as a feeble, non-decisive father throughout. I loved how he made the perfect decisions for everyone in the house throughout his life.
I loved Bhoomi, her mom, Raj's mom, Ashok, Chotu characters. They each were very important for the story.

Hats off for the research and weaving of the old times details into the story. The phone numbers, the car models, landmarks, way of talking etc all gave the correct retro feel to the book. The Cover is perfect for the story too.

The language and flow of story were perfect. I read the book at leisure.

The second twist in the story caught me surprised. Read the book to know what it was ;)

What I wanted more:
The Stolen kisses scene is going to cause an uproar, Sundari :D. I had my jaw drop down. Then I remembered hearing of such instances when I was in my 20s.

I smell a Ashok and Bhoomi story coming up. Did I guess it correctly?
