Story:

Avinash Lohia is a player in the stock market and Vice president of Goldman Sachs. He travels extensively for his business. He has just landed in Mumbai from London and is stamped with 14 days of Home Quarantine. He curses his luck. He manages few days by locking himself in his room while his maid comes once in a day and cooks his meals along with keeping the house in order and his groceries stocked. But then with complete Lockdown, he is struggling with Maggi and boiled eggs. He is at his wits ends.
Vaishali Yadav, stays next door since 2 months. She is from a small village of Bihar. Like Avinash she doesn't know most of their neighbors. She is not interested in men or marriage. But she has learnt to cook and is making use of the Lockdown to master her cooking skills. She offers to cook for the snooty, rude neighbour Avinash. By the end of his 14 days of Home Quarantine, Avinash has warmed up to the cheerful and chirpy Vaishali who is an amazing chef and great company.

Slowly they fall in love with each other. Vaishali is blowing hot & cold. Avinash cant control his attraction towards Vaishali.
What will be the outcome of this Lock in? How does life treat these two opposite poles of people? What happens after the Lockdown is lifted?

What I liked:

Like I said, Grounded talks about being Grounded mentally, physically and spiritually.
The story goes beyond love, attraction, relationship, erotic scenes.

As you see in real life, this Lockdown has given each person a fresh perspective on life and their purpose. This story throws light on how life is more than the rat race to earn more money. It shows how when life comes to a grinding halt, you look around yourself and get a deeper look at your life.

No job or occupation is small. A fat paycheck will not buy you happiness. Family is built with love, compassion, care and looking out for each other. I liked how these life lessons are integrated into the story.
Trust Sundari Venkatraman to give you Life Lessons in a hot Romantic book too ;)

Characters are few. Each with a chunky role. If you have read Book 1 and Book 2 of the Groom Series, it will be like a family reunion for you.

Vaishali has grown in this book beautifully and she grows on you too. You need to guess her Career.
Avinash with his Greek God looks, is drool worthy and also proves his mettle as the story progresses. Brownie points for him since he unlearns, learns many things and puts in the efforts to understand Vaishali. He is not just lust or masculinity. Self-made man who is perfect for a Self-made Superwoman like Vaishali. This couple has my blessing. I sound like an old granny :D

I like the fact that in Sundari's books, the brothers always quietly go and do the investigation.
I loved how Avinash knew about each of them and welcomed the Brothers-in-law openly as if they were his friends. I enjoyed the banter of the three sisters. You see each of them become a Women in their respective books. Their parents are truly blessed to have them as daughters.

In my Review of Book 2: Gobsmacked, I was very angry at Radhika's parents for doing nothing and mentioned they are true 21st century parents who dont get involved in their children's life.
In this Book 3: Grounded, they did just that & more. Vaishali's father proved that he believes that his daughters can achieve anything they want and trusts them to build great lives for themselves. Folding my hands to Mr.Yadav. You are like my own Papa.

I could sympathize with Vaishali and her reason for not getting into marriage. I wish someone had told me what her father told her. It was very clear but sometimes you need someone else to shine the light on the obvious.

The story length is perfect. The flow was consistent. The language simple and good. In the end, I wanted Radika and Surekha to make Vaishali see the error in her decision but they didnt force her. The entire family let her come to her own decision.

The Book Cover is Hot. A little distracting even ;) I was trying to figure out if it was a towel or pants. On the guys waist ;) What did you think?

What I wanted more:

More closure about Sharada Munde. I wanted to see that bond grow a little more.
I am also curious about Avinash's ex-boss and his family. Also why were they mentioned in detail in this book? Do I smell a sequel to that story?

I am glad I finished one more Book Series by Sundari Venkatraman. Eagerly waiting to complete more Series.
